It was an honor to be the first recipient of the 'Phoenix Award" on March 30, 2017 at the lovely Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst NY.
Founder of S.I.T.S., Rev Seretta McKnight created this award for a female possessing:
1) Courage, conviction, commitment, compassion and faith.
2) A never give up - in or out spirit of service to and love for our community.
3) The ability to recognize there is value in the valley experience; capitalize on circumstances, being better, not bitter; and optimize any situation, turning tragedy to triumph.
In a most humble and appreciative gesture I accept and dedicate this honor to my late mother, Della Harding who has been my inspiration and civic role model...
